A colourful, relaxed wedding at Yorkshire Sculpture Park.
Sally and Keir met at Sheffield University back in 2005 and have been together ever since. After deciding to get married at the start of 2017, they had only 4 months to plan their wedding day!
Wanting to do things a little bit different, they created something that was wonderfully unique and personal to them. A wedding day that was relaxed and informal with a lovely summer feel, complete with BBQ. They chose Yorkshire Sculpture Park as their wedding venue for sentimental reasons; Sally grew up in Skelmanthorpe and as children, they often visited. Her great aunt and uncle also met and worked there in the 1960's, and most importantly you can see the Emley mast from the grounds!
On the day of the wedding, Sally arrived in style with her father who had driven them to Yorkshire Sculpture Park in the family van! There's a whole other story here, and one I absolutely loved hearing when I first met them.
Marrying in the Roger Evans Auditorium, the venue was styled perfectly, with brightly coloured pompoms and beautiful wildflowers. Sally wore a three-quarter-length gown that had been transformed by her very talented Auntie, from its original state into a unique and simply stunning wedding dress with back detailing to die for! Keir wore a navy suit and had a wonderfully colourful buttonhole to complement Sally’s wildflower bouquet
After a beautiful ceremony and time spent relaxing with their wedding guests, Sally and Keir, along with myself headed out on the LandRover Tour that Yorkshire Sculpture Park offers. We stopped off at just a few of their favourite locations, including one of Sophie Ryders’ open-air sculptures: Crawling and captured some amazing portraits of them amongst the artwork!
Arriving back for the wedding breakfast BBQ, we were greeted with a wonderful sight. Sally and Keir’s reception area in the main restaurant looked amazing, and the combination of bright, bold colours really brought the space to life – my particular favourites were the colourful bunting and the lovely wedding cake made by Sallys’ grandma that was covered in chocolate ganache and garnished with flowers and foliage.
